ABOUT BRIGHT ADOLESCENT
For more than 30 years, the mission of the Adolescent & Family Health Center has been to help people live brighter lives while addressing the challenges they face. Led by George M. Bright, MD, one of the leading authorities on ADHD and addiction, AFHC’S treatment team includes a licensed clinical psychologist, a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed professional counselor, and two expert wilderness therapists. AFHC makes direct referrals to an art specialist and an English/writing specialist, who both bring a wide range of expertise and perspective to each patient’s diagnosis and treatment.
OUR COMPREHENSIVE TEAM APPROACH
Too often, patients are given medication and tools to mask symptoms or negative behaviors that disrupt their lives. In this day and age, medication is used to hide problems instead of resolving them. AFHC utilizes its comprehensive treatment team to identify root causes that trigger symptoms and negative behavior, and thus help patients recognize their own specific assets and strengths that will help navigate both their diagnoses and lives. Time and time again, AFHC has found that patients who receive this approach are better equipped to achieve personal success and satisfaction in the five major performance areas of life: medical, emotional, educational, vocational and social.

Resultant medical illnesses, chemical dependency, depression, and inappropriate, risk-taking behaviors can result in disciplinary action taken by the school or worse, the police.
Our goal is to uncover the causes of these difficulties and confront them as soon as possible. We do this by addressing the five performance areas:
