Yes, AFHC treats all ages.
Does AFHC treat only ADHD and addiction?
No. AFHC treats a wide spectrum of emotional, psychological, behavioral, developmental and educational issues.
What if AFHC does not participate with my insurance?
We have many self-pay patients, and will provide you with information and assistance to file claims yourself to you insurance company. in some cases, payment plans may be available.
Do I first have to have an appointment with Dr. Bright before I can make appointments with AFHC’s other professional staff?
No. New patients seeking non-medical treatment including counseling, psychological testing, educational testing or consulting, outdoor therapy experiences, etc. may schedule initial appointments with other members of AFHC’s professional staff.
How do I know which of AFHC’s professional staff is best to handle my situation?
When you call to make an appointment, a member of our staff will talk to you about your situation and help you determine the best person for you to see for your first visit.
How long does it take to get an appointment at AFHC?
In most cases, first time patients can be seen within one week.
Can I use your educational testing services if my child goes to a public school?
Yes. Educational testing services can be used for students in public and private schools and in both the grade school and college settings.
What does an educational consultant do?
An educational consultant works with families to assess a student's educational needs and, when necessary, act as an advocate on behalf of the student to help develop and coordinate programs and services that will increase the success of a student in the school setting.
What if I or my loved one needs more than outpatient substance abuse treatment?
AFHC staff provide a throrough assessment of your individual needs and help determine a treatment program that will best address those needs, as well as provide a referral to an inpatient facility if needed.
What is wilderness therapy?
Clinical research has repeatedly demonstrated the therapeutic benefits of nature, wilderness settings and adventure-based activities. For certain patients experiencing depression, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, substance abuse issues or the effects of ADHD, wilderness therapy programs offer an alternative approach to traditional, office-based “talk therapy.” 22-day outdoor therapy experiences combine wilderness living and adventure-based activities with individual, group, and family therapy to create a positive environment for personal growth and development.
